The new Sony Ericsson touch n play walkman phone, the W960i has an impressive 8GB of internal memory. The W950i has a 2.6?? QVGA touch screen which supports 262,000 colours. Noticeable improvements from its predecessor, the W950i, include the addition of a 3.2 megapixel camera and a standard phone keypad.
As with the W950i the W960i runs on the Symbian UIQ platform. The user can operate the phone via the keypad, a scroll wheel situated on the side of the phone or using the handsets touch screen. There is an RSS reader, FM radio and built in email client. Being a Symbian phone it is possible to enhance the functionality of the handset by the addition of a range of third party software.
The walkman player on the W960i is the latest version 2.0 player with support for album art. With the new Media Manager replacing Disc2Go, transferring music to the handset is as easy as drag n drop. The W960i has the Sony Ericsson Track ID feature. This lets you record a snippet of unknown music to the phone and upload it to the Sony Ericsson website. The music will be ID tagged and sent back to your phone with title, artist and album information.
The W960i on Orange is a Tri band GSM and 3G handset. The web browser is the excellent Opera browser for phones, and you can connect either via 3G of WiFi.
