Mobile Broadband on your laptop!
The new T-Mobile Web'n'Walk 3.5G* Data Card can be used with almost any laptop to provide high-speed internet services and email access, letting you work wherever you are using Wireless LAN, 3.5G* or GPRS.
Wireless LAN
Using the global 802.11b/g standards the T-Mobile Web'n'Walk 3.5G* Data Card provides a connection to your local area network at no cost when you are in your home or office. The maximum supported speed of 802.11g is 54Mbps, so your internet access will only be limited by the speed of the broadband connection you have available. Support for both WEP and WPA encryption standards means your private data will stay that way. In public places, the thousands of hotspots available for a small fee provide you with high speed internet access in places such as bars, coffee shops, railway stations, airports and even in some aeroplanes. We recommend BT Openzone as the UK's leading provider of Wi-Fi with a range of good value monthly subscriptions or short term vouchers for access matched with a comprehensive network in the UK and overseas.
Unique among UK mobile operators, T-Mobile have their own Wi-Fi network so you can also connect at broadband speeds in over 1,000 T-Mobile HotStops throughout the UK.
Keep connected the world with super 3.5G* Mobile Broadband!
The T-Mobile Web'n'Walk 3.5G* Data Card takes advantage of T-Mobile's super 3G network, offering connection speeds that are up to four times faster than standard 3G connection. If you find yourself in an area without 3.5G* coverage, it'll keep you connected by switching automatically to the well-established GPRS data service. In both cases, you'll be able to:
- access internet-based email accounts
- browse any web page
- send and receive text messages
- chat using instant messages
- monitor your usage
Business Benefits
The T-Mobile's Web'n'Walk datacard gives you self-contained internet and email access on your laptop, without the need for any specialised technical knowledge. Large email attachments can be downloaded quickly and easily, making mobile working a practical reality.
You can even stay connected whenever you want, because you'll only pay for the amount of data you send and receive. Quite simply, it means that you can work from out of the office without compromising. There's no searching for a telephone socket and there are no embarrassing snail-paced downloads.
If your business already provides staff with secure remote access to email and files on your computer network, it's likely that you can offer the same services using a Web'n'Walk datacard without needing any additional hardware or software.
Dual Band
The T-Mobile's Web'n'Walk datacard is a dual mode, dual band card, which means as well as operating on 3G networks it can roam onto GSM900 and GSM1800 networks in over 130 countries world-wide.
Coverage
T-Mobile's 3G network covers over 66% of the UK population, including major towns and cities in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. Business-specific locations such as transport routes and hubs, business parks, conference centres and other business locations are a key focus. 3G coverage is widening rapidly, and T-Mobile should cover over 80% of the UK population by the end of 2007.
When you move out of a 3G coverage area, you will handover to the T-Mobile GPRS network which covers 99% of the UK population. No UK network provides greater 3G data coverage.
GPRS
GPRS is an "always on" Mobile Internet service that is typically 2 to 3 times faster than traditional GSM data. Effectively being online continuously, there is no delay due to dialling up to your service provider and GPRS technology means that you are only charged by the amount of data you transfer, not how long you are online for.
